WHERE TO STAY

There are two hotels inside Centennial Park: The Boston Marriott Peabody (256 rooms) is on Centennial Drive, and Homewood Suites (85 rooms) is on Jubilee Drive. Also nearby are the Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites (180 rooms), The Hampton Inn (121 rooms), Homewood Suites on Route 1 (85 rooms).

WHERE TO EAT

Within 1 mile of Centennial Park, you can find many choices including: Sophia's in the Marriott, Legal Seafood, sushi, Tennessee Barbeque, Capone's Fine Italian, Joe's American Bar & Grille and Johnny Rockets. Also in nearby Peabody Square you can stop at Petrillio's for high-quality Italian food, have authentic Asian food at Sugarcane, and try some delicious Brazilian food at Firebull. A few minutes away in Salem, there is 4-star dining, cozy bistros, and of course excellent seafood. Nearby Essex is home to the famous Woodman's Restaurant.

Located 1 mile from Centennial Park, The North Shore Mall is home to over 130 stores in over a million square feet of leasable space. Stores include Macy's, Lord & Taylor, Filene's Basement, J.C. Penney, Sears, Barnes & Noble, Brookstone, Pottery Barn, Restoration Hardware, Bally Total Fitness, Williams Sonoma, Brooks Brothers, Coach, and Apple Computer.

PEABODY AREA RECREATION

Salem Country Club and Golf Course in Peabody is one of the countriest finest courses, and there is also the award-winning public course at New Meadow Golf Course. Visit The Peabody Essex Museum in Salem which reopened in 2003 after a $197 million redesign, or check out the Peabody Historical Society Museum, or Tilies Farm, the area's only working farm, recently purchased by the City of Peabody to preserve open spaces.

NORTH SHORE / CAPE ANN ATTRACTIONS

From golf, to concerts, to museums, or just going to the beach: you can't miss spectacular Crane's Beach, or the charm of historic seaport towns like Rockport, Gloucester and Salem. Catch a show at the North Shore Music Theatre. Take a day to enjoy deep sea fishing, whale watching, river cruises, or sunset sails. And don't forget to have some seafood at Woodman's in Essex. The area is full of real finds at markets, outdoor arts and crafts shows and antique shops. Or take a short ride to Portsmouth NH, Portland Maine and the malls in Kittery.
